Bearly five days into June and the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Z fold 2 June security patch has been released. The Korean tech giant has always dished out security patches and updates to its Galaxy devices as and when due. Nice job by Samsung.
The exclusive OneUI 4.1 on Android 12 was quite amazing with the sleek features it brought in and then the usual rollout of security patches since April, which made sure Galaxy devices weren’t lacking any security enhancements. While the June Security patch has already been seeded in Galaxy Tab S7 and last year’s S21, the Galaxy S22 and Z fold 2 security patch is now available.
The Galaxy S22 security patch is available on the global Snapdragon variant of the Samsung Galaxy S22, S22+, and S22 Ultra. The software update bears firmware version S90xEXXU2AVEH and includes bug fixes and overall device improvement as well as an update in the Linux Kernel version from 5.10.43 to 5.10.81.
The Galaxy S22 security patch is available in the United Arab Emirates but the Korean brand will still spread the software update to various regions as it is a gradual process.
For the Galaxy Z Fold 2, the firmware version is F916NKSU1FVE9 for the normal version and then F916NTBU1FVE9 for the KOO variant. It’s currently available in South Korea with the package spreading to other regions soon.
The Galaxy S22 and Z Fold 2 June security patch brings general improvements to the two smartphones involved. In addition, the Z Fold 2 users can now use the Smart Widget feature from OneUI 4.1 on account of installing the update.
