The Korean tech giant, Samsung, is all about their flagship, the Samsung Galaxy S23 series, this season. The brand has made available the Samsung Galaxy S23 kernel source code – I think this is where the developers step in.
For those who are unaware, Android is based on the Linux kernel. As a result, to comply with the GNU General Public License version 2, any manufacturer producing Android-powered devices is required to give their kernel code upon request. While many firms postpone the release of kernel code for various reasons, Samsung has a very solid track record in this area.
The kernel sources for the Galaxy S22 range were provided within two weeks of its release last year, and it’s time for the Galaxy S23 family to carry on the tradition – the Samsung Galaxy S23 kernel source code is now available.
As previously stated, two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S23 kernel source code are available at the time of reporting, for model numbers SM-591xB and SM-591xU. As a result, this kernel source release does not fully cover all regional versions of the Galaxy S23. Yet, this is the first time a Galaxy S flagship has Qualcomm chipsets in all variants of the phone sold throughout the world, which implies that integrating the packages should result in a single kernel tree.
