Many rumors of the Samsung Galaxy S23 have been surfacing online, while some are sleek and the others opposite, the Samsung enthusiasts keep hoping the next flagship smartphone doesn’t turn out to be a storm in a teacup. Meanwhile, sources have related that the S23 will be coming in with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 worldwide.
The normal tradition of the Korean tech giant is disbursing two chips in the flagship S-series lineup according to regions though(Snapdragon for that in the US region and then Exynos for the other European and Asian markets). However, that’s going to be different according to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. The brand is planning on using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for all the S23 worldwide.
The reason for this development might be that the upcoming Exynos chipset is subpar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 according to Ming-Chi. Meanwhile, a lot of Samsung fans who find themselves with the Exynos smartphones complain that the chipset doesn’t deliver up to expectations following less efficient power consumption and some other issues.
Although Samsung says otherwise according to the statement. “The Exynos and Snapdragon processors go through the same strict and rigorous, real-life testing scenarios to deliver a consistent and optimal performance over the entire lifecycle of the smartphone.”
After the release of the Exynos 2200, sources and analysts noticed that it’s similar to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 with even some shortcomings like gaming issues and software bugs. Well, let’s wait and see how the Snapdragon will be different from the Exynos counterpart.
Galaxy S23 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2
According to reports from Weibo, Digital Chat station to be precise, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is equipped with a Cortex-X3 core, two cortex-A720 cores, two cortex-A710 cores, alongside three Cortex-A510 cores. The results of the initial efficiency tests from the notebookchecknet were fairly good, courtesy of the Cortex-X3 core.
The prime Cortex-X3 core will however take a toll on the battery life but it’s no doubt that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 brings some unique abilities at least on paper. Furthermore, the chipset is going to be built on TMSC’S 4nm node process similar to what’s seen on the 8 Gen 1 plus. Equipped with a better GPU, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 might just make the S23 magnificent.
