Samsung is slowly moving attention to One UI 8, with One UI 7 almost available for all eligible phones. The Korean company has started a beta test, but exclusive to the Galaxy S25 series. However, it appears that Samsung will be opening up the preview to more users, as the Galaxy S24 One UI 8 Beta build is now available on the company’s server.

Google has released the stable Android 16 update to eligible users, meaning other OEMs can start rolling out the update. Samsung is working on the release but will first organize a beta preview. They are currently previewing the build for the Galaxy S25, but it looks like the S24 series will join the program next.
Details of the Galaxy S24 One UI 8 beta program
According to Tarun Vats, Samsung is preparing for the Galaxy S24 One UI 8 beta release. A firmware for the phone has been spotted on the servers, meaning a release could be imminent. It has a firmware version S928BXXU4CYF7 and is for the Global S24 Ultra.
While Samsung has uploaded the Galaxy S24 One UI 8 Beta build on their server, we still do not know exactly when the testing will commence. We will probably see the expansion to other models towards the completion of the Beta program. The One UI 7 Beta test started with the Galaxy S24 and was exclusive to the modes for months. It was towards the completion of the beta preview that more phones were allowed to join the preview.
Whatever Samsung decides, we are sure the Galaxy S24 will participate in the beta preview. It will be the second major upgrade, and going by the current software support policy, the device is still eligible for five years of Android OS updates.
