A new 200MP camera sensor was supposed to debut on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Sadly, it didn’t but recent leaks confirm that the camera sensor will not get by the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Let’s take a look at what this sensor can do on the S24 Ultra
Details of Galaxy S24 Ultra new 200MP camera sensor
The highlight of this upcoming smartphone is its 200MP camera sensor, the ISOCELL HP2SX. It’s an optimized version of the ISOCELL HP2, featuring a 1/1.3-inch optical format and individual pixel size of 0.7μm. This camera sensor is likely to support features like Super Quad Phase Detection autofocus, 8K video recording at 30fps, and pixel binning modes of 16-in-1 (12MP) and 4-in-1 (50MP).
In addition to the powerful main camera, the S24 Ultra will include an enhanced telephoto camera with a 50MP sensor and 0.7μm pixels. Paired with a 3x optical zoom lens and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), this telephoto setup is expected to deliver remarkable detail performance and offer optical quality 5x zoom through in-sensor cropping.
The rest of the camera setup includes a 12MP selfie camera, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 10x zoom, similar to the configuration found in the Galaxy S23 Ultra.
Beyond its camera capabilities, the Galaxy S24 Ultra boasts top-notch hardware. It’s expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, with RAM options of 12GB or 16GB, and storage choices ranging from 256GB to a massive 2TB. The device will include an in-display fingerprint reader, IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, dual speakers, and a sturdy titanium frame.
Powering the smartphone is a 5,000mAh battery, complemented by 45W fast charging support. Additionally, it’s likely to support 15W fast wireless charging and 4.5W reverse wireless charging. The Galaxy S24 Ultra will come pre-installed with Android 14, ensuring access to the latest Android features and updates.
With its impressive camera technology, robust hardware, and high-end features, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra is poised to be a formidable addition to the smartphone market, appealing to photography enthusiasts and tech aficionados alike.
