While we are waiting for the One UI 6.1.1 and the potential release of the One UI 7 beta, Samsung hasn’t done with the One UI 6.1 rollout. The update has just arrived for the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, in what could be the last major upgrade for the unit.
Samsung’s promise to support its phones for seven years started with the Galaxy S24. Before then, it was four years of guaranteed OS upgrade, but only for select devices. Unfortunately, the Tab A7 Lite doesn’t fall into any of these categories, as the unit was released in 2021 and is also not a flagship.
Interestingly, though, it has received two Android OS upgrades before now, and with the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite One UI 6.1 update rolling out, it makes three upgrades in three years. Unfortunately, that is probably the last major upgrade that will arrive for the device.
Meanwhile, the update is currently live in South Korea with version number T225NKOU8EXH2. It brings all the expected features while pushing the Android security patch level to July 2024 to increase system security and stability. Regardless of your region, you can check the update now.
