Ahead of next month’s official release, Samsung has started testing for more devices. This time, it is the Galaxy Tab S8 series spotted on the Benchmark website running the latest Android OS and One UI 7.
Details of the Galaxy Tab S8 series Android 15-based One UI 7 update
Samsung plans to start rolling out a stable Android 15-based One UI 7 update next month, with beta testing ongoing for select phones. Unfortunately, only a few devices will participate in the beta preview, but that does not mean the upgrade is not being tested for other eligible phones. A Geekbench listing confirms that the Galaxy Tab S8 series is the latest to start testing the upcoming release.
According to the benchmark website, Samsung has supposedly started testing One UI 7 update for the Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G, Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra 5G, and Galaxy Tab S8 5G. The trio is likely to receive a stable upgrade simultaneously since the testing started in the same period, but that is still weeks from now.
Samsung will officially announce the One UI 7 late next month, with the Galaxy S24 series first in line for the upgrade. The Galaxy Tab S9 series will probably get it before the Tab S8 series. Hence, there are still a few weeks before the update starts rolling out. Nevertheless, it is a positive development that the company has commenced testing the new OS for Tablets.
