Sadly, it was noticed recently that the latest Galaxy Watch 4 update is bricking some watches – in that way, making the watch completely useless. Sources reported that Samsung rolled out a new Galaxy Watch 4 update, however, the issue persists.
The fresh update rolled out to the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic had a firmware version ending in GVK4 with US users experiencing the software first – other regions will follow suit soon. According to the Galaxy Watch 4 update, you should be getting more stability and reliability on your smartwatch, alongside some security enhancements – thanks to the November SMR.
According to the Korean tech giant, some issues from the previous GVI3 update have been fixed. The initial update was seen to brick some watches, users couldn’t access their watches after they had entered a “reboot phase”. This was considered frustrating and Samsung mentioned that a fix is in the works which should be this fresh update. You would expect the update to come to the rescue of clueless Galaxy Watch 4 users, but that hasn’t come to play.
Bricking persists while trying to get the latest Galaxy Watch 4 update
9to5google found a few Reddit reports that showed the tough experience while trying to install the software. A user mentioned that the “device restarted a few times, appearing to be boot looping, during installation, but did eventually load into the OS.”
There were some positive results from the installation as some users went through a smooth process while some can’t access their smartwatches at all. Meanwhile, there has been speculation that it might be a fault in units produced within August 2021 – others later seemed to work better.
