The Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 will be the heir to the impressive Galaxy Watch 5 and it seems the wearable will be even more impressive as the leaks tell the tale. A recent leak says the Galaxy Watch 6 might get a rotating bezel.
The return of the rotating bezel on the Galaxy Watch 6
The rotating bezel on Samsung smartwatches first appeared on the Samsung Gear S2, which was released in 2015. The novel input technique was an instant hit, and Samsung preserved it for future generations and into the “Galaxy Watch” period. The Galaxy Watch Active, which debuted in 2019, was the first Samsung watch without the function. Nonetheless, the feature remained on other devices, even when Samsung switched to Wear OS.
Nevertheless, it was evident that Samsung was beginning to de-emphasize the rotating bezel in 2021, as the primary Galaxy Watch 4 was missing functionality and was replaced with the Galaxy Watch 4 “Classic.” The function was eventually removed totally from the Galaxy Watch 5, with the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro instead having a more ruggedized titanium case that lacked the capability.
The rotating bezel will return to the Watch 6 Pro after a one-year vacation, according to Korean-based YouTuber Super Roader. Like with the Galaxy Watch 4 series, only the more costly smartwatches will have the functionality, although this time the “Pro” moniker will remain. But, unlike the Watch 5 Pro, Samsung appears to be offering this year’s watch in two sizes. The Watch 5 Pro was only available in a 45mm size, which was too bulky and awkward for individuals with smaller wrists.
We won’t know for a few months if the Galaxy Watch 6 Pro will have a rotating bezel, but other speculations suggest it will be a decent addition. Supposedly, Samsung is increasing its battery size once again, and the business is also likely to embrace a curved glass design.
