The primary objective is for Stability while the Beta version is made available for experienced users to test new features and provide valuable feedback. The Beta version comes with lots of bugs and requires a vastly experienced user to use it efficiently.
The Stable and Beta versions are further group into Chinese and Global. While the Chinese version is purposely for the Chinese users, the Global version comes pre-installed on all Xiaomi smartphones, gadgets released globally.
Currently, we are on MIUI 11, which started rolling in the last couple of weeks, and it seems the Chinese version got more features than the global version. Below are Changelog for both the MIUI 11 Global and Chinese version
While it looked like both versions got the same features, MIUI 11 Chinese feedbacks, says otherwise. Let’s explore all the features that are available on MIUI Chinese ROM.
Ultra battery saver
This feature gives you an additional 15 hours for text and call when your battery drops to 5%. You get a notification to switch to Ultra battery saver, and it conserves energy by disabling power-consuming features and decreases the power performance of your device.
Mi Mover
The Mi Mover lets you move photos, contacts, messages, call history, audio, videos, documents, and app to a new device at great speed.
Special Features on MIUI 11 Chinese ROM
Under special features are Game Turbo, Taplus, Quick Replies, LIte Mode, Kid space, second space, and MIUI Lab; Find photos in gallery and Car Mode. There are also special features that notify about Earthquake, and you can plan your trips. This new feature allows you to contact your consulates abroad, learn about the exchange rate, get local phone data, and weather conditions.
From the MIUI 11 Chinese feedbacks, it suggests a decent improvement in battery life. You get over 48hours on a single charge when you switch to battery saver, and it doesn’t affect system performance in any way. There are some features introduced to camera apps. The camera now takes more accurate shots and filters to edit them afterward.
The observations show the Chinese MIUI ROMs get more features, and they receive new updates ahead of the global version. However, you will find most of the features are useless if you don’t understand Chines. Even after setting your language to English, you’ll still see the Chinese language hovering all over.
