The latest Xiaomi phone to start getting the HyperOS update is the Redmi 12. It is a global release exclusive to Mi Pilots members for preview. We expect the public release in the coming weeks if the feedback is positive. 

While premium and mid-range phones have been receiving the Android 14-based HyperOS update, entry-level devices are also getting the upgrade. It was released for the Redmi 12C a few weeks ago, and now, the Redmi 12 Android 14-based HyperOS update is rolling out.

The update is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.1.0.UMXMIXM and weighs 4.4GB. It delivers the December 2023 security patch to increase system security, while HyperOS features are part of the package. They include a new system font and home screen icons, a redesigned weather app, and a control center. A new animation language to make animations smooth, improved connectivity and security.

It will take a few weeks for the update to become available for everyone, but you can use the link below and download the Recovery ROM if you have an authorized Xiaomi Beta account. Also, ensure your bootloader is locked while waiting for the OTA, and remember to check all the reported HyperOS bugs.

Xiaomi has released the Redmi 12 Android 14 -based HyperOS update in Indonesia. The update is rolling out with a version number OS1.0.3.0.UMXIDXM. It’s a limited rollout at the moment, meaning not everyone can install the build. However, if you have an authorized Mi Beta account, you can install the Recovery ROM here.
