Well, that’s another surprise update from Xiaomi. It’s been only three days since a new stable MIUI 11 update started arriving for the global Redmi 9 user. Some are even yet to receive the update, which brought the November patch, but luckily, those users will now receive a stable MIUI 12 update instead.
The global Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update is coming with a version number, MIUI 12.0.1.0 QJCMIXM, and weighs in at 623MB. Meanwhile, some people are receiving a 502MB package, but it seems to be those already on the November patch. That said, you should install either of the updates as both comes with the important thing, which is MIUI 12. And aside from that, the update also brings new camera modes and new gesture control for the control center.
As usual, the Global Redmi 9 MIUI 12 update will first get to selected users for preview. The beta preview is expected to last for some days, and after that, the public rollout will commence. However, you can still check the updater app and see if you’re among the selected few and if now, wait for the OTA. There’s an option to flash the recovery or OTA ROM, but that might not work as the update is still a Beta Stable build.
Nevertheless, you can always try, and if you have got TWRP Recovery installed, then you are good to go. Below are the download links and the full Changelog.
