Xiaomi is expected to announce the MIUI 13 Android skin on December 28. Ahead of the unveiling, the company has been testing the build internally, as closed beta builds are on suspension. They’re likely to restart testing after the MIUI 13 presentation, but it doesn’t look like we will wait for beta tests before stable MIUI 13 starts rolling out. That’s because the Global Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Android 12-based MIUI 13 build has started testing, same with other Xiaomi phones.
When Xiaomi announced MIUI 12.5 Enhanced, they started pushing the stable version immediately. The update was already rolling out before the company presented it officially. And while they’ll announce MIUI 13 before rolling it out this time, a handful of global phones are in line to receive the update in the coming weeks. Luckily for the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Note 10 users, the Android 12-based MIUI 13 build has entered testing.
With the Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 10 Android 12-based MIUI 13 update currently under testing, it means the device will be among the first to receive the update. According to reports, MIUI 13 is only a minor upgrade, and hence, we won’t see many virtual changes. Perhaps, the company is focusing on stability, something it has neglected for some time now. They’re likely to follow the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced approach of releasing the stable version immediately after launch.
Interestingly, they’ll release MIUI 13 and Android 12 simultaneously to eligible users. We expect the rollout to commence after the December 28 event, starting with Chinese models. The global users are likely to receive the update from January 2021 if everything goes as planned.
