The Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 series is one of the best-selling mid-range phones of the last decade. It debuted in 2019 running Android 9, and hence, was always going to get Android 10. Xiaomi delivered the update months ago, and probably because of its popularity, also pushed Android 11. They have also promised to send the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5, which is currently limited to the Chinese models. However, that could change soon as a new report hints at a November release date for the global Redmi Note 8 Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5.
Depending on your region, it might have been eight months since the last stable update was delivered. It’s unclear why it’s taking so much time for Xiaomi to push a new update to the global Redmi Note 8, given that the Chinese version has received two stable builds in the past two months. That’s probably because the company wants to release the Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 with the next stable update to the device.
According to Alvin Tse, Xiaomi executive in Indonesia, the global Redmi Note 8 Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 will likely arrive next month. He disclosed that when quizzed on the arrival of the much-anticipated update. Although he gave a time frame, the tune of the reply isn’t convincing. Nevertheless, we expect Xiaomi to release the global Redmi Note 8 Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5 in the coming weeks.
For Chinese ROM users, the company has just released a stable MIUI 12.5.3.0 RCOCNXM. It brings the features of the new version of MIUI while addressing some bugs and optimized performance. You can check for the complete changes here.

After over nine months, Xiaomi has released the MIUI 12.5 Enhanced update to the global Redmi Note 8 users. The update is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 RCOMIXM. It comes with a the expected features and has bumped the Android security patch level to November 2021 to increase system security and stability. Check the full report here.
