Global users are now receiving the stable MIUI 14-based Android 13 update. It’s the Xiaomi 12 getting the much-anticipated upgrade, which also brings the latest security patch and new features.
Xiaomi MIUI 14 has been exclusive to European units, but that changes with the release of global Xiaomi 12 MIUI 14 update. The latest iteration of MIUI brings the Photon Engine, which uses less memory but keeps the system running fast and efficiently. Also, it introduces a super icon to keep the Home Screen lively while the search in settings has advanced.
Unfortunately, it seems the security improvements introduced with the Chinese unveiling of MIUI 14 aren’t making it to global models. Perhaps, it will be released with subsequent builds. Meanwhile, there haven’t been issues of lags or glitches reported so far, and we recommend installing the update when prompted.
The Global Xiaomi 12 MIUI 14 update is seeding with a version number MIUI 14.0.2.0 TLCMIXM and weighs 4.4GB. January 2022 security patch is part of the package, while stable MIUI based on Android 13 for those yet to upgrade to the new Android OS is part of the build.
