A few days back, Xiaomi announced its recruiting global Android 12 stable testers. That’s after the company has rolled out the latest Android version to the closed beta group in China. With the official release of stable Android 12, which took place yesterday, the global users are now getting the much-anticipated version of Android. It’s still a “stable beta” build, meaning only registered users can get the update for now.
Meanwhile, Google isn’t rolling out the stable Android 12 to Pixel owners until the coming weeks. It means the company needs to fix a few things before they start distribution. Hence, the current Global Xiaomi Mi 11 Android 12 update isn’t stable enough yet. As suggested by the update log;
“[Attention]
This update is a limited release for Mi Pilot testers. Don’t forget to back up all important items before upgrading. The update process might take longer than usual. Expect overheating and other performance issues after you update – it might take some time for your device to adapt to the new version. Remember that some third-party apps aren’t yet compatible with Android 12 and you might not be able to use them normally.”
After upgrading your device to the latest version of Android and you experience any of the above, we recommend performing a factory reset. That’ll get the system working smoothly for the moment, pending the next global Xiaomi Mi 11 Android 12 build.
Meanwhile, the current MIUI based Android 12 build for the Mi 11 is seeding with a version number – MIUI 12.5.1.0 SKBMIXM. Aside from introducing features of the new Android OS, which you might not notice because of MIUI, it has bumped the Android security patch level to September 2021. That supposedly increases system security and stability.
