Google is testing a new screenshot feature to allow recording a specific app

Google keeps on rolling out features via the beta software to Android. Sources have discovered a new screenshot feature that will allow you to record a specific app without any distractions. Usually, while engaging in a screen recording, you have to keep your smartphone in Airplane mode. This is to avoid the notification pop-ups that might affect the screen while in the recording process which is like very frustrating.

Google has taken note of this inconvenience and will be bringing in the new screenshot feature via the Android 13 QPR2 Beta 2 update – this will be an addition to the other features. According to the “Share or record an app” header on the UI, you may have to share your recording on another screen instead of your phone’s owner.

After this, you will then see the feature that asks you which recent app you want to record or cast and an option to show the other apps with the usual Android share functionality.

Availability of the new screenshot feature

The new screenshot feature isn’t live yet on the Android 13 QPR2 beta 2 update so the working mechanism mentioned earlier is still very uncertain (you can check the link at the end of the article for the video). But, one thing’s for sure, the feature is a work in progress, however, the new screenshot feature will not be coming until the stable update is rolled out in March. This feature is going to make things quite convenient, especially for content creators. Well, we’ll keep on unraveling more features of the Android 13 QPR beta releases.
