The Google Pixel 6a is a sleek smartphone and it has a few highlight features that will just make it stand out from its competitors. However, it’s quite sad that some users have laid some complaints about the Google Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner even with how sleek it is.
The Google Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner is fast and reliable no doubt, but some users who purchased the Pixel 6a have complained that another fingerprint not registered was able to unlock the smartphone. Meanwhile, the folks at 9to5google obtained some Pixel 6a units and didn’t find any issues with the Google Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner.
A Pixel user said he had to remove all the registered fingerprints and then add them back before the issue disappeared. It can be that it is a hardware issue that affected a particular section of the shipment. That said, there has been some review of both the software and hardware section of the Pixel 6a and there wasn’t much difference between the units.
A probable fix for the Google Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner
The Big G did roll out the June SMR and if the Google Pixel 6a fingerprint scanner issue is a software issue, then it should be fixed. However, if it turns out to be a hardware malfunction, then we hope Google will send out some replacements to the affected Pixel users.
Those having fingerprint scanner issues can navigate to Settings>Security>Fingerprint Unlock and then delete. It’s quite sad that Pixel 6a users are facing this issue, we just hope it is resolved as soon as possible.
