Entering the month of September, phone brands have started rolling out the September security patches to their various smartphones and the Big G isn’t doing anything different. The Google Pixel 6a September 2022 security patch is now available and it improves the fingerprint sensor of the smartphone.
Sources relayed that we should be getting a single global build of the update across all Google Pixel devices. Well, the first patch was rolled out to support Pixel smartphones a week after they received the Android 13, not bad, compared to last year. Interestingly, the Pixel 6a got the Android 13 alongside the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro on the Verizon carrier.
Back to the subject matter, the Android 13 QPR1 Beta brought in the August SMR to the Google Pixel 6a, however, there were “various issues for Pixel 6a devices that made it difficult for the user to unlock their device or set up fingerprint unlock”.
The Pixel 6a September 2022 security patch will be bringing in “additional improvements for fingerprint recognition and response in certain conditions”. This is probably to fix the issue users faced with the fingerprint after receiving the August SMR with the QPR1. That said, there are still some tweaks in the Pixel 6a September 2022 security patch under the hood. Let’s take a look.
