Google’s Pixel 7a is set to debut at Google I/O in a little over a month, and now official-looking photos of the phone have surfaced. The budget smartphone has been attracting a lot of attention and some rumors say it will be far better than its predecessor.
What we know about the Google Pixel 7a from renders
The Pixel 7a isn’t exactly buried in secrecy, but it hasn’t appeared in many photographs thus far. MySmartPrice and @OnLeaks shared multiple photographs of the Pixel 7a today, showing the smartphone from various perspectives in what look to be official renderings for marketing and other uses.
While these images don’t reveal anything about the Pixel 7a’s internals, they do depict a smartphone that is strikingly identical to its predecessor. The Pixel 7a has the same form and screen bezels as the Pixel 6a, however, there are a few differences. This time around, the camera bar is lower, and it also follows the design of the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, featuring a metal bar with a cutout for the camera module. The bar appears to be matte, resembling the $599 Pixel 7. As previously stated, an improved main sensor is expected in that camera bar.
The blue color variety, which we haven’t seen before, stands out the most. This hue was previously mentioned earlier this year, and new Pixel Buds versions would be released to complement it, but this is the first time we’ve seen it. The blue color is rather light, although it is somewhat more apparent than the blue Pixel 4a. Black and white varieties reappear as well, however, the black hue is much softer this time around.
The device’s frame is also interesting since it changes color slightly more across color options this year. Like the Pixel 6a, antenna bands are running down the frame, indicating that it will be composed of metal. The Pixel 7a is likely to include wireless charging capability, improved cameras, and Google’s Tensor G2 processor. The price is unknown, although the phone was previously expected to go on sale in June.
