Google is yet to debut the mid-range version of the flagship Pixel 8 phones. The tech company will release the device later in the year, which has now been tipped to be more expensive than the predecessor.
The Google Pixel 8a will probably debut in April or May, and ahead of the release, the price has been revealed, at least for the European market. Google is expected to price the mid-range phone at €570, which is about €70 more than the Pixel 7a.
Interestingly, there will be a more expensive model with 256GB storage, and according to reports, it will start at €630. It is unclear what prompted the price hike, but it might be that Pixel 8a will get all the AI features that debuted with the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro.
Google Pixel 8a will arrive with the Tensor G3 Octa-core Soc paired with 8GB of RAM. Of course, the device will run Android 14 outside of-the-box. With the new update policy, it will receive the next seven generations of Android OS updates and security patches.
The device will be available in four color options: Obsidian (Black), Porcelain (beige), Bay (light blue)0, and Mint (light green). Unfortunately, only the 256GB memory option will be available in Obsidian.
About the design, Google has made minor tweaks to the Pixel 8a with a much rounder design compared to the predecessor. There’s a dual camera sensor at the rear camera bumps that spans across the width of the phone.
