Google Pixel Tablet was first teased last year and has been in the news since then. The company has officially released the Tablet, which brings some interesting features but might not be enough to compete favorably in the market.
When smartphones and Tablets are going nearly bezel-less, Google Pixel Tablet has a thick one. It sits around a 10.95-inch 2560 x 1600px LCD panel with 500 nits of brightness. The display has an “anti-smudge coating” and supports USI 2.0 styluses.
Under the hood, the Tablet is powered by Google’s Tensor G2, the same found on the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The Titan M2 security coprocessor is also present. They’re paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There’s no expansion slot, meaning micro SD card expansion isn’t supported.
Of course, the Tablet runs Android 13 outside of the box, and with Google prioritizing five years of security updates, support will end in 2028. The Tablet will receive three Android OS upgrades during that time.
Google opted for a primary 8MP fixed focus camera and an 8MP front camera sensor. It has a “27-watt-hour” battery, and according to Google, is enough for 12 hours of video streaming.
For biometrics, the side-mounted power button doubles as the fingerprint scanner. The Tablet has four speakers and three mics and as expected, there is no 3.5mm headphone jack.
