Google Pixel Watch was an impressive wearable all round – although with some flaws from which no tech piece out there isn’t exempted. Well, nevertheless, the wearable still thrives among the competition in the markets. The Big G has confirmed that there will be a successor to the Google Pixel Watch, Google Pixel Watch 2 and we’re in for a lot.
Google Pixel Watch 2: a different feel
The details of the new Google Pixel Watch 2 came in via 9to5Google. According to the source, the smartwatch will be taking up two variants. Initially, It and Jon Prosser claimed in early May that Google was planning to introduce a Pixel Watch 2 alongside the Pixel 8 series in the autumn. The Pixel Watch would be accompanied by a child-friendly wristwatch marketed under the Fitbit brand, possibly the one photographed in April, according to the duo.
Following that, 9to5Google released information regarding this year’s Pixel Watch from its sources, including its battery capacity and dependency on a Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 platform processor. According to the website, version 14.24 of the Google app has codenames for two unannounced models, as well as a related image, a screenshot of which is shown below. According to reports, these codenames are ‘Aurora’ and ‘Eos,’ which are cognates in Roman and Greek mythology, respectively.
Although the website does not appear to have received any proof differentiating Aurora from Eos, it argues that the original Pixel Watch provides information regarding the differences between the two types.
Aurora or Eos will have an LTE modem, although both are compatible with the Pixel Watch 2. The pair is likely to keep the 41 mm case size to be compatible with Google’s custom watch bands. The image below suggests that the Pixel Watch 2 will keep its predecessor’s look as well, however, this might be a placeholder that Google alters closer to release.
