Google has started rolling out a new update to the Pixel Watch and Pixel Watch 2. The update is coming a few days after the December Feature Drop was released, and as expected, it delivers some interesting features.
The Google Pixel Watch December 2023 patch update is rolling out with a version number TWD9.231205.001. It is the same build number for all model and carrier-locked versions except JP. Arriving with the update are some improvements, better sync between the Pixel phones and the first-gen Pixel Watch, and more.
Google Pixel Watch December 2023 patch changelog
New features for your first-gen Pixel Watch
- Your Pixel Phone and first-gen Pixel Watch will work even better together for more convenience, allowing you to sync your Do Not Disturb and Bedtime Modes from one device to the other, like you can with Pixel Watch 2.
Bug fixes and performance updates
- A number of people experienced image retention on their Pixel Watch 2, which has been fixed in this update.
Also, the Watch Unlock Feature is now available. It arrived with the December Feature Drop, but your Watch needs to be unlocked on your wrist and device nearby. Of course, you need to enable it to start using, and fortunately, it takes only a few minutes.
Launch the companion app>>Watch preference>>Security. Google argues that enabling Watch unlock reduces the battery life while making your device less secure.
Also, the call screen now shows a transcript of your conversations on your wrist when the Pixel Watch or Pixel Watch 2 is paired with the Pixel 6 and later. From your wrist, you can ignore or allow more information before picking up.
To download the latest update, head to Settings>>System>>System update. Tap “Your watch is up to date” multiple times to start the download if it is available on your device. If the download seems slow, you can speed it up by opening Connectivity Preference and disabling Bluetooth to Force Wi-Fi. Otherwise, you can download the OTA and Live images from the source link.
