While Google has produced a Pixel phone(Pixel 6) rivaling one of the flagship phones from the Apple series, much is expected from the Google Pixel Watch to debut soon.
The “Pixel Rohan” which is the internal code name for the Pixel watch has been getting a lot of attention since Evan Brass tweeted a post saying “won’t be long now” with a jpeg depicting a Wear OS 3.1. Meanwhile, the Google I/O 2022 has been announced(for May 11) and we expect Google to address a newer Wear OS with an official statement about Rohan.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 series had already received the Wear OS 3.2 update which has been rolling out since the 8th of February and Google’s Rohan should include the latest Wear OS so as not to become a failed project.
The Google Pixel watch to debut soon has been anticipated for three years now as a lot of activities have been going on in the company. Google had acquired the Fossil smartwatch tech in 2019 and bought over Fitbit for a couple of billion dollars in 2020 plus an announcement that the company in collaboration with Fitbit was working on a Wear OS project codenamed “Nightlight”
Furthermore, Qualcomm is set to launch another Snapdragon chipset this year. With all these going on, it might be clues to the much-anticipated Pixel watch.
What do we know about the Google Pixel Watch to debut soon?
According to earlier reports from the Business Insider and The Verge, the wearable might be round with no physical bezel and will feature a heart rate monitor and step counting sensor along with the debut of Fitbit integration on Wear OS.
The Google Pixel watch should be expected around the end of May after the Google I/O 2022 scheduled for May 11.
