Many details of the new wearable, the Pixel watch have been surfacing online before its pre-order by July 21 and so far it has sure caught the attention of most tech enthusiasts globally. Just recently, it has been confirmed that the Google Pixel Watch will use USB-C charging cable.
Recently, sources revealed that Compal electronics, which is the manufacturer of the Apple Watch as well as the Quanta computer, is manufacturing the Pixel watch charging cable, a USB-C charging cable. Compared to some other brands like the Fitbit, Versa 3 and Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, one would say it’s a pretty impressive enhancement as they use USB-A.
Furthermore, it was presumed the Pixel watch can be charged with Battery share on Pixel 5 and the other top-end Pixel phones but the cable has to be plugged directly into the smartphone.
Charging the Google Pixel watch with a USB-C charging cable is impressive, but what about connectivity?
Charging the wearable with USB-C charging cable is an improvement seeing that the other competitors don’t have this feature. But shifting away from power, having confirmed the three models of the Pixel watch to be GQF4C, GBZ4S and GWT9R according to Bluetooth SIG, there are a few different things about their connectivity.
The GQF4C model is bearing only Bluetooth and wifi connectivity, while the other two models are spiced with LTE support. GBZ4S has LTE Band 5, 7 and 26 support while GWT9R has the LTE Band 2, 4, 5, 12, 13, 17, 25, 26, 66 and 71 support. Note the latter model support is most likely for the US.
The image also shows the FCC ID which as seen in the fourth FCC ID, the wearables are going to use a USB-C charging cable. While you can’t see the FCC ID on your smartwatch, you can access it by navigating to settings, clicking on the system and then regulatory information.
