The much-anticipated Pixel Watch 2, codenamed “Eos,” is making waves in the Android community with intriguing leaks from the Google Play Console. Let’s delve into the confirmed features that are set to elevate the wearable experience to new heights.

Pixel Watch 2 features – from Google Play Console

As we delve into the listing on the Google Play Console, a wealth of exciting features comes to light. Google has taken a step forward by replacing the outdated Exynos 9110 CPU from the first Pixel Watch with a more robust Snapdragon W5 series chip in the Pixel Watch 2.

The specific processor, the Qualcomm SW5100, is a variant of the standard Snapdragon W5. Notably, this is distinct from the W5+ found in devices like the TicWatch Pro 5, as the only discernible difference is the presence of a co-processor. With Google’s history of integrating its co-processor with the Exynos 9110, it’s highly likely that a similar approach will be taken with the new Snapdragon processor.

The Pixel Watch 2 is set to retain the 2GB of RAM that its predecessor boasted. This ensures a seamless performance and multitasking capabilities.

Android 13 is poised to be the pre-installed software version on the Pixel Watch 2, aligning perfectly with the anticipated launch of Wear OS 4. This software partnership promises enhanced functionality and an intuitive user experience, a combination that users can eagerly anticipate.

While the Pixel Watch 2 maintains the original’s screen specifications, with a resolution of 384×384 and a screen density of 320 ppi, Google has reportedly switched from a BOE display to a Samsung panel. This transition could offer improved display quality and visual appeal, enriching the overall user experience.

The Pixel Watch 2’s appearance on the Google Play Console has unveiled a tantalizing glimpse of its capabilities, software prowess, and aesthetic updates. It is projected that the Pixel Watch 2, alongside the Pixel 8, will make its debut in the upcoming fall. Additionally, the promise of new bands and a metal shell adds an extra layer of excitement for users awaiting Google’s next innovative wearable.
