Every month, Google releases a Play system update to resolve issues and optimize Android performance. These updates are important, as they also bring new features and address security flaws in the Android operating system. However, most devices don’t run the latest update, including Pixel phones, which is the case of the Galaxy S24 series.
It’s been over a month since Samsung released its latest flagship phones. The phones recently received their first update, which brought some new features and system optimizations. Unfortunately, it did not deliver the latest Google Play system update, as the Galaxy S24 series is stuck on the July 2023 Google Play system update.
That’s not surprising, with some Google Pixel phones running an outdated Play system update. However, it seems there was an issue with the Galaxy S24 series, but that’s probably resolved as the device is receiving the January 2024 Google Play system update.
The update is rolling out for everyone, although those in India are reporting it. It comes in an 84MB package, but depending on your model, the update size might vary. However, irrespective of the pack size, your device, after installation, will run through the latest Google Play system update.
