Well, we’re finally in the season of the Android 14 but Google still rolls out some updates of the Android 13 regardless. This time, it’s the Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1 update. Hidden within the Android 13 QPR3 Beta 3.1 update is a slew of bug fixes. The update includes a wide range of fixes and enhancements for Pixel phones running Android 13 QPR3 Beta 2 or Beta 3. The update will be T3B3.230413.006/.A1, however, if you’ve already updated to Android 14 beta, you won’t see it.
The update was revealed on the Android Beta subreddit, with further information available on the Android Developers website. While the new update contains numerous stability fixes, some of the more notable items on the list include fixes for excessive power drain, device crashes related to the system Ul and when using the camera, and a TalkBack fix.
If you want to participate in the beta, you can always sign up for the Android Beta Program; just make sure you have a Pixel smartphone that is compatible. The application is now available for the Pixel 4a, Pixel 4a 5G, Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6, and Pixel 7 series. After enrolling, you will receive an OTA update with a new beta build of Android. Simply download and install it from there.

- Fixed various stability issues. (Issue #279246037, Issue #274339025, Issue #279301937)
- Fixed an issue that caused the first notification in the notification shade to get stuck with an offset. (Issue #273870112)
- Fixed a memory leak that affected the system UI.
- Fixed an issue where the volume level that was set while TalkBack was enabled did not persist after toggling TalkBack off and on again.
- Fixed issues with the system Ul that sometimes caused apps to crash.
- Fixed issues that could cause a device to crash when using the camera.
- Fixed issues that sometimes caused excessive power drains.
While it’s interesting to know that these are the bug fixes from the update, you should bear in mind that betas generally (both Android 13 betas and Android 14 betas) will always be betas and they won’t work as intended – that is, there might be some issues.
