Google has started rolling out the stable Android 16 update to Pixel phones. The update is available globally. It comes with new features and optimizations, many of which we have already seen. However, the Material 3 Expressive Design will launch with the next Feature Drop, which is a few months from today.

Google released the new Android OS 4 months earlier when you consider previous releases. That was expected, as the company rescheduled its release plan and will stick with the current cycle going forward. Hence, the next preview cycle is around November.
Meanwhile, with the release of the stable Android 16 update, upcoming Pixel phones will debut with the Android OS and other flagship phones from smartphone companies. And with most Android phones eligible for 7 years of software support, launching with the latest OS means extra OS support, given that most flagship phones do not launch with the current OS.
