Looking at all the generations of Pixel phones, there have been sleek features distinguishing them from one another. While we’re in for a lot on the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 series, it has been unveiled that the Big G might use ceramic for one of its future Pixel phones.
Ceramic material on future Pixel phones? Here’s what we know
The unveiling was done by the popular Digital Chat station on Weibo. The brand is taking the production of the two upcoming Pixel devices to China, specifically Foxconn. Quite surprising because the brand had left China out of anything production in these last few years.
The two future Pixel devices are the rumored Pixel Notepad/Fold and the other Pixel device that would be coming in with the ceramic material. We already have details of the Pixel Notepad, a device similar to Oppo Find N, housing 12MP cameras among other features, although we don’t know the plan the Big G has as regards the notepad.
Back to the smartphone in question, if Google is truly employing ceramic material for this smartphone, then it will be the first Pixel phone to take up this feat. The feature of the Pixel phone remains in a grey area to us, however, it was described as a flagship and might probably bear the Tensor 2 chip, “50MP camera with periscope lens”, and “2K display with hole punch”
Furthermore, the post also mentioned the Sony IMX787 camera on the device, a telephoto camera with a 64MP sensor, somewhat of an upgrade compared to the 48MP sensor on Pixel 6 Pro. That said, since the two future phones are in the hood of Foxconn, it might just be that we would be expecting the ceramic smartphone and the light of the Pixel Notepad to have not been turned off just yet.
