The first images of the new Xiaomi Band 8 appear to have leaked. The photographs show the wearable looking quite similar to its predecessor, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7, with one major difference. Thus far, the M2239B1 watch has been registered with agencies in countries around the Middle East and Southeast Asia.
Other details from the Xiaomi Band 8 leak
GoAndroid claims to have discovered the photographs, as well as certification from Korea’s NRRA (National Radio Research Agency). The “Smart Band” with model number M2239B1 was stated in the application, indicating that the gadget will contain a DC 3.87 V polymer lithium-ion battery and Bluetooth 5.1 connection.
The photographs show one major difference in design from prior models: the Xiaomi Band 8 will have a two-piece removable watch band, comparable to an Apple Watch. The wearable, like previous versions, features a long, thin oval watch face with health monitoring sensors and a charging connection on the back.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) in Singapore, the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and the Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia have all already certified a smartwatch with the same model number (SIRIM) – according to earlier reports.
These applications imply that Xiaomi intends to release the Xiaomi Band 8 outside of China. The device, however, has yet to be registered with organizations outside of SouthEast Asia and the Middle East. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 is likely to be released in the coming months. The firm has yet to provide further information on the wearable, such as its features and price. The Xiaomi Smart Band 7, which was released last spring, presently retails for US$46.30.
