When you try to paste data into an app, you can get an odd error saying that your organization’s data cannot be pasted here. This error appears to be more common in fresh documents and can occur on both computers and mobile devices. In that case, exit the troublesome app, reset your device, and see whether the error persists. If nothing changes, rectify the problem by following the troubleshooting steps below.

Your organization's data cannot be pasted here

Easy Ways to Fix “Your Organization’s Data Cannot Be Pasted Here” Error

1. Make some changes to the file and save it

Make modifications to a new file. Start with a blank Excel spreadsheet, enter some text into one of the cells, and then color in the blanks. Press the back arrow after that. Choose Yes when prompted if you wish to save the file.

Check to see if you can now paste the information from your organization into the file you just saved. Close the file, exit the program, and wait 30 seconds if the problem persists.

2. Make a long press on the screen

If the error is from an Android device, long-press the screen area where you want to paste the data and select Paste. Your data should be able to be copied and pasted.

The “Your data cannot be pasted here” notice is usually just a Gboard recommendation if you’re using Google Keyboard. The problem should be resolved by long-tapping on your screen.

3. Update the Office suite manually

This error could potentially be caused by an outdated version of Outlook or Office installed on your computer. Manually updating Office on your Windows 11/10 PC, as well as your iOS or Android mobile, can rule out this option.

4. Contact your IT administrator

If the issue persists, contact your administrator for assistance. Copying and pasting data between apps may be prohibited by existing device or app control policies.

If you’re an administrator, make sure the cut, copy, and paste functionalities aren’t disabled in Microsoft Intune. Change the policy settings to allow users to cut, copy, and paste data between apps.
