Pear Deck is a tool created for teachers and students. On this platform, teachers can create presentations, and students can join in and participate in the presentations.
To join a presentation as a student, you will need an invitation from the teacher. This invite can be in the form of a link or code. Once you’ve got this code, you are then to go to the sub-domain JoinPD.com and paste the code in the appropriate field before being allowed access to the presentation.
As a teacher, after creating a presentation you will need to give out the presentation code to your students if you want them to join in. But if you don’t know how to generate a JoinPD code, you will be discovering how to do that in a moment. Stay with me.
How to generate a Joinpd code
To generate a Joinpd code, you will need to first of all, create a presentation, once the presentation is created, the code will appear automatically. You can share this code with your students or anyone who you want to participate in the presentation.
Below is a step-by-step guide for creating a presentation in order for the code to be generated.
- Go to peardeck.com and sign in with your account details. If you do not have an account, you will need to create one.
- After successfully signing in as a teacher, click on Create Presentation.
- Click on Add-ons at the top bar and from the drop-down menu, select Get add-ons.
- Type “Pear Deck” in the search bar and then click the blue button with the inscription “+FREE”.
- Click on Add-ons > Pear Deck > Open Pear Deck Add-on.
- Create your presentation.
- When you are through with the presentation, click “Present with Pear Deck”.
- A 5-digit code otherwise known as the Joinpd code will be presented before you.
- Share the code with your students and all those you want to give access, to join in your presentation.
How to join a session using the Joinpd code
As explained earlier, you can only join a presentation as a student if you have the code which will be made available to you only by your teacher.
If you have the code with you, follow the below simple steps:
- Navigate to peardeck.com.
- Click on Join a Session.
- Enter your code.
- Voila, you are in.
