How Old Your Phone Is

Whatever the reason, follow the steps below to find out exactly how old your phone is.

How to determine the age of your phone

Check the phone itself

The easiest way to determine how old your phone is, is to check the phone itself. Most phones have the date of manufacture printed on them somewhere. This can be found in the battery compartment, on the back of the device, or even in the settings. On some phones, the age of the device may be printed on the SIM card tray.

Check the box it came in

If you’re not sure how old your phone is, checking the box it came in is one of the quickest and easiest ways to find out. Depending on the model, age, and manufacturer, the box should have a date printed on it which will tell you when the phone was made. If the box is no longer available, you could check the user manual or any other documents that came with the phone at the time of purchase.

Use your phone’s IMEI number

Your phone’s IMEI number (International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique identifier that can be used to track your phone’s age and other important information. Every phone has its own unique IMEI number, which can be found on the back of the device or by dialing *#06# on your keypad.

The IMEI number can be used to locate the exact date your phone was manufactured. To do this, you will need to search for the IMEI number and use a lookup tool to find the information associated with the number. Many websites offer this service for free, but it is important to make sure you are using a legitimate site before entering any personal information. Imei.info is a website that offers a free IMEI lookup service. Just type in your IMEI number in the space provided, and you should be able to see the exact date it was manufactured as well as other details.

Check the warranty

If you purchased your phone from a store, chances are the box it came in had a warranty card inside. The warranty will usually have an expiration date listed on it, which can tell you how old your phone is.

Use a third-party app

There are several third-party apps that also offer this function for free, so utilizing them can enable you to check how old your phone is.

There are plenty of applications you can find on the Google Play Store, some of them include:

  • Device Info
  • Droid Device Info
  • Droid Hardware Info

Just install an activate one of the apps, and follow the on-screen instructions to determine your phone’s age.

Wrapping Up

This article showed you several ways to know how old your phone is, so if you’ve constantly been wondering about the age of your phone, at least one of the methods above can help.
