When you have someone who texts you while you’re in a meeting or you want to deal with an urgent reminder later, notification snoozing is the perfect option. Unlike Do Not Disturb mode, notification snoozing mutes only the selected notification or app for a certain time and then resurfaces it after the snoozing period has elapsed.

While this has been a feature of Android since version 8, Android 12 makes snoozing even more convenient. In this guide, we’ll be having a look at how to snooze notifications on Android phone.

What is notification snoozing?

Notification snoozing is a simple and quick way to turn off notifications for a certain app. Alerts can usually be snoozed for up to two hours, allowing you to silence them for a brief period of time. It’s useful for turning off notifications for later-in-the-evening reminders or if you’re heading into a meeting and need to silence that group chat with all your buddies.

Notification snoozing on Android does not allow you to silence alerts for all applications at once or for days at a time, unlike Do Not Disturb. Instead, you’ll have to do it one app at a time.

Here is How to Snooze Notifications on Android Phone

  • To begin, swipe down from your notification shade to expand notifications.
  • To expand a notification, tap the down-facing chevron arrow icon on the notification you want to expand.
  • Locate the “Snooze” icon in the expanded notification’s lower-right-hand side of the notification UI.
  • With a “Z” in the center of the face, it looks like an old-fashioned alarm clock. Snooze the alarm by tapping the “Snooze” icon.
  • Three extra snooze options are included in most Android phones: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, and 2 hours. Choose the snooze duration that is most appropriate for your needs..
  • The option you choose should now appear in the snooze notification entry.
  • When you leave the UI, Android will hide the notification, but it will reappear after the timer has expired.
