Track Flights in Messages on iPhone

If you have an iPhone, you can track flights without the need to download and install a third-party app. iOS has a built-in feature that allows you to track flights using the data detectors integrated into the system. One way to track flights on your iPhone is through the Messages app. Follow the steps below to proceed:

  • Open the Messages app.
  • If someone sends you a flight number in a message, press and hold the underlined flight number.
  • A real-time view of the flight’s progress will be displayed on a map.
  • To learn more about the flight, tap “Preview Flight” to get information such as departure and arrival times, delays, and even baggage claim details.
  • At the bottom of the flight information card, you’ll find links to the airline’s website and Apple Maps for easy reference.

Tip: Include the full airline name along with the flight number (e.g., EasyJet U2502) to improve the chances of iOS detecting the flight number.

Track Flights in Spotlight Search on iPhone

Another way to track flights using your iPhone is through the Spotlight Search feature. Here’s how to do it:

  • Swipe down from the middle of the Home screen to access the Spotlight Search bar.
  • Type the flight number into the search field.
  • Quickly access departure and arrival information.
  • Next, tap on the flight information card for additional details such as departure and arrival times, delays, and more.

Track Flights on Android/iPhone Using Google’s Flight Tracker

Whether you’re using an Android or iPhone, Google can help fetch reliable information from the best flight trackers on the internet. Follow these steps to proceed:

  • Open a web browser and go to the Google Flight website on your phone.
  • Enter the flight number into the search bar.
  • A quick status snippet of the flight will be displayed.
  • If you need more information, click the source link at the bottom of the snippet to visit the flight tracker’s webpage.

Track Flights on Android/iPhone Using Third-Party Apps

Flight tracker apps are a popular way to keep tabs on planes in the sky. They provide real-time updates and comprehensive information about flights. Here are some popular third-party flight tracker apps:
