While the focus is on the Google Pixel 8 launching in the coming weeks, Google Pixel 8a is now making headlines. It’s not often we see images of a Google device months before its launch, which is supposedly the case with the Pixel 8a.
Google won’t launch the Pixel 8a until next year, but images of the device are now on the internet. From the pictures seen on Twitter, the Pixel 7a successor will borrow the Pixel 8 series design language. It will feature rounded corners, different from what is obtainable with the Pixel 7a.
As expected, Google Pixel 8a will feature pill-shaped camera cutouts. It’s a dual sensor, while the LED light sits on the right side of the camera bar. Google will supposedly apply a matte finish to the metal frame but a glossy finish at the back, just like the predecessor.
Meanwhile, the front panel is a bit disappointing with the thick bezels. Anyways, it gets the rounded corners and a centered punch-hole camera cutout. The device will run on a Tensor G3 SoC, and it’s codenamed Akita.
While the supposed images of Google Pixel 8a look realistic, it’s too early for such leaks. The device will probably arrive in May 2024 during Google’s I/O event. We won’t be surprised if the company releases the phone earlier, and we hope to learn more about the launch in the coming days.
