In the course of the much anticipated Google I/O event on Wednesday, our soon to debut devices came into the limelight and we got tweaks to most of our software. One of the amazing updates to software the Big G revealed at the conference is that an immersive view is coming to Google maps.
While these new features were hinted at before the release of a massive update on the app, the Big G uses its unique AI prowess to add new enhancements to the Google maps. Adding to the usual directions from point A to point B, Google maps will be getting features that help recommend places to stay and eat at Point B.
As the immersive view is coming to Google Maps, you get to see places in different weather conditions and during the time of day. Not to mention the fact that you also get to know if the specific location is crowded and at what time.
One other plus is the truly unique and outstanding view that gets you to swoop down to the street level and get a peek inside an eatery. Google is gracing most devices with this feature and it will be available in Los Angeles, London, New York, San Francisco, and Tokyo with other cities following suit later in the year.
A new face is Immersive view is coming to Google Maps
Talking about accessibility, the immersive view is coming to Google maps on almost any device and wearable too as the company hinted it coming to the Pixel watch at the I/O. At the conference, the company also spoke of bringing the eco-friendly routing added to US-based Google maps to the European users. This move will help reduce drastically the carbon emissions and will help lessen the greenhouse effect. Good update by Google adding an immersive view and safeguarding the ecosystem as well.
