It has been weeks since HyperOS debuted in China. The latest Android skin made its global debut weeks later, while the Indian HyperOS update release date remained unknown. That changes now as Xiaomi confirms when those running the Indian ROM will start getting the update.
Xiaomi will start rolling out the And 14-based HyperOS update in India this month. The company confirmed the latest development on its official India MIUI account. According to the post on X/Twitter, “XiaomiHyperOS is set to make its debut in India soon. Rollout will begin in January 2024, with the flagship #Xiaomi13Pro and #XiaomiPad6 being the first set of devices to get it, promising an all-new and improved user experience.”
From the post, the Xiaomi 13 series will start getting the update soon, followed by the Xiaomi Pad 6. We expect the Xiaomi 12T series and Redmi Note 12 series to start getting the update after the initial release. Also, Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro will receive the update with the first wave of release, given that the global models are currently running the build.
When will the Indian HyperOS update start rolling out?
Unfortunately, there is no date, but we expect the update to start rolling out this week. We expect the first wave to be completed this month, with more devices getting the update next month. While waiting for the update, ensure your bootloader is locked, as devices with unlocked bootloader will not receive the update.
Also, when the update starts rolling out, it will arrive for Mi Pilots members before making it to the public. Hence, if you do not receive the update after the initial release, we recommend waiting for the public rollout.
