Apple will definitely address the overheating issue with a new update, but you can follow the below procedure to reduce it while waiting for an update;

  • Activate Auto-Brightness – When your device overheats, it causes battery drain and can cause burns. Enabling Auto-Brightness allows the device to adjust brightness based on ambient light, which can help reduce overheating.
  • Manage your connectivity – This includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, hotspots, and others. Apple recommends that you turn them off when not in use.
  • Phone cover Consideration – Phones with black cover will heat up more easily, especially in a warm environment. Apple says you should consider the case on your device, as it might be contributing to the overheating.

Meanwhile, there are conditions to use your iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro to avoid overheating. Apple stress using the phones in environments with temperatures ranging from 0° to 35°C (32° to 95°F).

The condition of where you keep your iPhone should fall within -20° to 45°C (-4° to 113°F) temperature. Hence, you should avoid leaving your iPhone in an environment above these temperatures, especially in a parked car.

Of course, it’s normal for a device to overheat. Expect your iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro to overheat when playing games, using it as a Hotspot, wireless charging, and streaming videos. However, if the temperature is within the range listed in this post, then you should not worry much about it.
