A nice way to begin the new year for users of Google Pixel smartphones. Sources have confirmed that the update arriving in the Google Pixels will be bringing in the January 2023 security patch. It’s a conventional thing for Google to roll out updates on Mondays, however, the New year somehow disrupted the schedule which moves it to this Tuesday.
Verizon refreshed their device software update and it showed the January 2023 security patch on all the Google Pixel smartphones.

What to expect from the January 2023 security patch on Google Pixel phones
First off, there aren’t any huge changes expected via the January 2023 security patch since the December Feature Drop with the Android QPR1 just landed with a few features. That said, there might be a lot of fixes for some vulnerabilities under the hood(as the name goes, a security patch).
9to5google mentioned the disappearing of the Home and Wallet shortcuts when on Always On Display, so this might be fixed. Meanwhile, the next expected big update is the Android 13 QPR2 and sources mentioned an update coming to the Google Pixel Buds Pro as well.
