Most Android phones are stuck on May 2024 Google security system update, but it doesn’t stop the release of new ones. Perhaps the company only announced features coming with the latest release since they are yet to start seeding for eligible users.
Google releases updates to the Android Core system. These include the Google Play store, Google Play services, and the Play system update. They ensure your Android OS is running smoothly and free of bugs, so it is recommended to download and install a new update when available.
These updates are released to units running Android. They include Android phones/Tablets, WearOS, Google/Android TV, Android Auto, Chrome OS, and others. As usual, the July 2024 Google Play system update is yet to roll out, but we know the features it will be coming with.
Announced in the 2024 I/O event, Play Protect live threat targets apps that try to cloak their actions. The Private Compute core that detects suspicious app behaviors will send an app to Google for additional review if something is found. You will be prompted to uninstall the app once it’s confirmed to be malicious.
The new addition is coming to Pixel, Honor, Lenovo, Nothing, OnePlus, Oppo, Sharp, Transsiom, and other Android-powered phones.
