Xiaomi continues to deliver new features and optimization with each closed beta build. That’s probably why this version of MIUI has been touted to be more stable than what’s the “stable ROM.” And with the latest close beta build, the Chinese OEM has enabled memory extension feature for Redmi K30 5G, unlocked refresh limit on apps like YouTube, enabled Performance mode in battery settings, and more.
The latest closed beta build that brought these features started seeding today. Perhaps, the update started deployment today as from that version number – MIUI 12.5 V21.9.8 – shows the update is for September 8, 2021. If you’re a member of the Chinese closed beta group, you should receive the update in the coming minutes or hours. There’s also a link below this post from where you can download the ROM.
According to the update log, the current build has enabled memory extension feature for Redmi K30 5G/ Redmi K30i 5G and Redmi K30 5G Extreme Edition. Also, the Performance mode in battery settings has been unlocked for supported devices. The feature allows users to choose between Balance and Performance mode, with the latter ideal for gaming but will consume more power.
The update also unlocked the Optimized Charging and Refresh rate limit for apps like YouTube. What the former does, is learn your pattern of charging. That will help determine when to charge the device faster or slow. However, only select phones (premium) have so far received the feature.
Other changes are essentially bug fixes: “couldn’t update virus definitions if Avast definitions are set. The app was crashing while updating Tencent definition or trying to start a scan if Tencent definitions are set on the cleaner app.”
