Xiaomi has been rolling out the stable Android 12-based MIUI 13 update to the eligible device. The deployment is currently exclusive to Chinese users, with the global units expected to start pushing the update in the coming days. Fortunately, the Redmi 9T will get the update, but that would be in Q2, and it would base on Android 11. And to prepare the device ahead of future upgrades, a new global Redmi 9T update has been released.
As usual, the update is a limited release for Mi Pilots to preview the build for bugs. That’ll take a few days, and if there’s no bug at the end, the public will start getting the update. It will arrive with a version number – MIUI 12.5.6.0 RJQMIXM – in a 360MB package. Of course, it’s the Enhanced version of MIUI 12.5, but the current build is a subsequent release unless you’re yet to download the build for the first time.
The latest Global Redmi 9T update is a security patch build. It brought the December security patch to increase system security and stability. The update has optimized performance while addressing some minor bugs. Also, it fortifies the device ahead of future upgrades, including the latest iteration of MIUI – MIUI 13. Unfortunately, there’s no official ETA for the update to arrive on the Redmi 9T units, but you can follow our tracker page to know when it starts rolling out.
