Xiaomi, in the last couple of days, has been pushing a Stable Android 10 update to the Redmi Note 8 Pro, with the regular version still on Android Pie. There’s no time frame as to when the Android Q will arrive on Note 8, but according to a moderator in the Mi Community, the Chinese version of the device will first receive the update after which it will be rolled out to the Global variant, and we hope it will be soon. But while we are waiting, the latest Redmi Note 8 update started arriving this morning with MIUI 11.0.7.0 PCOMIXM, and unfortunately, it’s based on Android Pie still.
Latest Redmi Note 8 update Changelog
The update is a Global Beta ROM and is currently arriving for Beta Team and Mi Pilot. It comes along with some bug fixes and system optimization. From the reviews on the Mi community, the update has fixed the bug with Viber outgoing calls. Also, the update seems to have made more RAM available to enhance operation with the phone. You will also get an updated Android security patch for February 2020. The update is a 457MB package and should have arrived on your device.
To scan for the latest Redmi Note 8 update, navigate to your updater app for an automatic scan. However, if the update is yet to arrive, you will have to exercise some patience, then check back. It’s because Beta updates are released in batches. When each batch gets the update, it will be left for testing, and if everything works fine, another batch will get the update. The update will then be rolled out to the public once everything is confirmed to be a success.
