I turns out that the rumors are true. Google has finally released the latest version of Android by pushing its source to the Android Open Source Project. However, the actual updates to Pixel phones will only start seeding in the coming weeks. The latest version of Android is said to have seen the most redesign compared the past years, and perhaps, the company needs more time to address some problems.
When Xiaomi released MIUI 12 a couple of months ago, the company intended to move to MIUI 13. That didn’t go as planned as we’re currently on Enhanced Edition of MIUI 12.5. The company is still trying to address the bugs left by MIUI 12 that revamped the UI. Maybe Google is facing the same issue. Reports suggest the company might release Android Beta 5.1 to make sure all these problems are resolved.
That seems to be the case as the latest version of Android won’t be coming to Pixels owner for now. According to Google, they will receive the stable Android 12 in the coming weeks. There’s no particular date, which means it might take a few weeks. As for other OEMs – Samsung, OnePlus, Oppo, Realme, Tecno, Vivo, and Xiaomi – Google said the update will arrive later this year.
That said, it means Google hasn’t released the actual Android 12 update yet. It has only released the source to the Android Open Source Project. But since that happens almost simultaneously with stable release, we expect Pixel owners to get the update in the coming weeks. And now that Google has made it official – stable Android 12 – you can visit the source to learn about all the new features.
For Xiaomi phones users, we have set up a tracker page. You can stay updated with all the latest information as it concerns the latest version of Android. Hopefully, the Xiaomi Mi 11 series will start pushing the stable version.
