Leaked Google Pixel 8 case confirms the device design

Well, that’s another leak on the Google Pixel 8. This time, it’s the Google Pixel 8 case that further reveals what to expect as regards the design of the smartphone. While the Android community is waiting to receive the Google Pixel 7a, Google Pixel Tablet, and probably a foldable phone at the Google I/O, the Google Pixel 8 might be coming in later this year – most likely in October.

It is worth noting that the new Google Pixel 8 case leaks aren’t far off from the leaks we’ve gotten before. The Pixel 8 case picture reveals a higher camera bar with curved corners. It includes an oval hole to accommodate a dual-camera system. The camera bar also houses a microphone and an LED flash. A power key and volume rocker are cutouts on the right edge of the casing. It also appears to feature a speaker and a USB-C port cutout on the bottom edge.

The Pixel 8 Pro’s cover reveals a horizontal camera bar with curved corners. It has a single cutout that holds all three cameras. It is flanked by an LED flash and an unknown fourth sensor. It has power and volume controls on the right edge. A fourth button emerges on the same edge, which might be a slit for inserting a lanyard thread.

Previous information on the Google Pixel 8

According to OnLeaks’ Google Pixel 8 renders, the bottom bezel is visible, while the top bezel conceals a speaker. The phone(with a 6.2-inch screen) measures 150.5 x 70.8 x 8.9mm, which is 5.1mm shorter, 2.4mm narrower, and .2mm thinner than the Pixel 7. Another comparison is with the 6.1-inch Pixel 6a, which has the same thickness but is 1.7mm shorter and 1mm narrower.

On the back, we have a bigger camera pill that is considerably closer to the top and bottom of the bar than it is currently. The rear-facing microphone and flash are located next to it. In the Pixel 8, there is no extra camera bar sensor, which may be LIDAR from the Pro. The camera bar, like on the Pixel 7, integrates into the side frame, which seems shinier in these models. The power and volume controls remain on the right edge.

Nevertheless, similar to how Google’s Pro phones have had a telephoto lens for the previous two years, this smaller handset will miss that third camera and the identification sensor, widening the specs difference. Otherwise, the Pixel 8 should have the same Tensor G3 processor and twin camera array as the Pixel 7.
