Google is rolling out the March 2025 security patch update for Pixel phones. It’s the Android 15 QPR2 stable update, the first major Android 15 update. As usual with Feature Drops, the update comes with loads of features and fixes as well.
A couple of hours ago, Google started seeding the much-anticipated March 2025 security patch tag with the March Feature Drop. It’s a 657MB package on the Pixel 7 Pro. While they are released with features of the update, there are more than just the three.
March 2025 security patch update changes
- Connected Cameras: Connect your Pixel phone with a GoPro or other Pixel phone camera, and use popular social apps to stream from different angles for more professional-looking and immersive videos.
- Find your family and friends: The Find My Device app now lets you send your location and receive the location of your friends and family. So you can rest easy knowing where they are, or that they got where they were going safely.
- Auto transcribe in the Recorder app: If you choose, you can transfer audio recordings from previous phones or your Pixel Watch to your Pixel and automatically transcribe and save them to the Recorder app.
Aside from the new changes and additions, there are loads of bug fixes. These span across Apps, Audio, Camera, Display & Graphics, System, Telephony, and User Interface.

- Fix for issue occasionally causing color theme in launcher preview to not match with the selected wallpaper in certain conditions*[3]
- Fix for issue with home screen icons to appear transparent after unlocking or switching apps in certain conditions*[2]
- Fix for issue with switching between apps when using third party launchers in certain conditions*[2]
- Fix for issue with themed icons in certain conditions*[3]
- General improvements for performance and stability in certain UI transitions and animations*[3]

How to download the March 2025 Feature Drop
The update is rolling out via OTA. We can confirm it’s now available for all eligible users. Head to Settings>>System>>Software update>>System update to install the update. Otherwise, you should download the Live image from the source link.
