Google is rolling out the May 2024 security patch update to all eligible pixel phones. The update went live on Tuesday, and we believe it is available for everyone on the stable channel. Carrier-locked units are also getting the update across the globe.
Security patch updates are still important to keep our device secured and running smoothly. We recommend installing the May 2024 security patch for Pixel phones if you have one. However, only the Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6a, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 7, Pixel 7a, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8, Pixel Fold, and Pixel Tablet are eligible.
The update is rolling out with a build number AP1A.240505.00X and weighs 4.96 MB. It did not bring any new features but resolved security vulnerabilities. There are over 29 security flaws addressed, ranging from high to critical.
